Doppio Zero’s mood food – good for you
Does anything taste better than whole foods? No long lists of unpronounceable ingredients, only delicious, fresh, unprocessed good food. It’s the kind of nutritious food that fuels, grows, and repairs your body and mind. Now, that’s what we at Doppio Zero family-style restaurant call mood food!
Good-mood foods can be plant-based foods or not, but either way, they support overall central nervous system health, calmness, and a positive mind. These foods also provide the building blocks we need to be at our best and are linked to benefits such as reduced stress, better sleep, and improved concentration and mental wellness.
Salmon
You might not be a fan of fish, but maybe you should reconsider! This mood food is full of Omega 3 fatty acids, which form part of our cell membranes, especially in the brain. Eating salmon helps you fight depression and inflammation, and because it’s high in Vitamin D, it helps give you strong and healthy bones, teeth, and muscles.
Eggs
This is no yolk! Whether you believe that the egg or the chicken came first, eggs are a fantastic mood food. They contain Vitamin B6, B12, choline, and folate, all related to brain health. In fact, at least two studies show higher choline levels are linked to better memory and mental function.
Come to the dark side… of vegetables that is
You can find dark green vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and kale in many of Doppio Zero’s plant-based recipes, and for good reason. Not only are they yum in your tum and excellent mood foods, but they are also good for your mental health. These veggies contain folate, iron, and magnesium. Folate influences your mood, magnesium and iron help prevent anxiety and depression, and iron even helps your body make healthy red blood cells! It’s a win-win-win.
